What is Biochar?

As a stable form of carbon, biochar persists for thousands of years in the soil, enhancing soil fertility and improving quality by elevating pH levels. Its capacity to retain moisture attracts beneficial fungi and microbes while preserving essential nutrients within the soil.

How to Use Biochar

Combine biochar with compost and allow it to rest for a minimum of 10 days. A 50/50 mixture of biochar and compost is recommended for effective charging. Farmers commonly incorporate 20% biochar into their compost blend, applying the "compo-char" mixture as needed.

Primary applications include: filtration of drinking water, sanitation of human and kitchen waste, and acting as a composting agent.

Additionally, you can:

1. Combine biochar with compost and let it stand for 6 to 12 weeks.

2. Integrate biochar into the soil, allowing it to rest for at least 3 to preferably 6 months before planting.
